I knew of Woody long before arriving in the chaotic tourist area of Patong Beach on Phuket thanks to a recommendation from a friend in Australia.
“You simply have to go and find him” I was told by Craig “the guy drives a tuk-tuk, is always smiling and would be great for you to interview!”
Woody is a simple soul who wears a smile wider than most, is motivated by the love of his family and children, is proud of job and loves meeting tourists so he can better his English.
Initially he was a little shy, struggling with his words off camera but once he’d had time to think about his answers I pressed record and he opened his mind as to why he’s known as Patong’s Happiest Man.
